The Project
Provide Metropolitan with guidance and support in relation to fire safety compliance across their portfolio of residential homes and care support sites throughout the UK. Approximately 44,000 units.
To provide full time in house support to advise on standards, deal with enforcement issues, advise on remedial works and to train the in house team.
This project involved working with the senior management from within the H&S Team and Asset Management Team in regard to Fire Safety
Also undertaking Fire Risk Assessments for General Needs and Care and Support Premises
Practical Consulting Approach
- Development of applicable fire safety standards and a fire risk assessment template.
- Undertaking Fire risk assessments inline with PAS 79 and develop a system in line with PAS 7
- Provide consultancy support as a internal member of the H&S team responsible for Fire Safety advice
Benefits
- Working up front to establish good corporate governance, Metropolitan were able to establish good fire safety protocols and identify areas of weakness before commencing the large risk assessment programme.
