New FD30s doors and door linings were installed in the following locations:
- Boiler room
- CCTV room
- Dining room to front door
- Kitchen to dining room
- Kitchen to lounge
- Lounge to downstairs
- Lounge to front door
- Room 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6
- Staff room
All the doors were made up in the workshop using FD30 door blanks and FD30 door linings with hardwood thresholds and zoo hardware. The glazing used on various doors consisted of 7.2mm pyro guard glass that was fitted in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and held in place with hardwood hockey stick beading.
The existing doors and frames were removed, and the new door sets were fitted to the openings using steel fixings on Blue60 packers and fire stopped using the Blue60 foam. When set, this was trimmed and finished with 69mm MDF architrave. Any larger gaps above the doors were filled using 4 x 2 CLS timber and covered with 12.5mm Fireline plasterboard. The doors were then painted with 2 coats of primer undercoat and 2 coats of white gloss to match the existing woodwork.

There were large amounts of hidden work behind the existing frames that required remedial work to bring it up to a fire resisting standard. There were also numerous holes in the ceilings, these were trimmed square, and the plasterboard was replaced with two layers of 12.5mm Fireline plasterboard which was then filled and sanded to a finish to match the current ceiling.
